LMD Single v1.1

Designed for medium to medium-dark beans in a single-shot 7 g stepdown basket, the goal is to optimize for even extraction while minimizing the overextraction that can be common with darker beans. This is done by transitioning from a pressure target to a flow target during extraction. Flow is extremely limited due to the small puck volume

Shot Prep:

• VST or LM "7g" single basket (not HE)
• 8 g recommended (should work from 7-9 g; adjust stop-on-weight as needed)

Main targets:

• PI: Flow driven until 1.2 bar
• No soak due to small puck volume
• Extraction: Climb to 7 bar, decrease 1 bar over 3 sec, then transition to flow defined profile as the puck grind allows.
• Weight: 16 g stop-on-weight, 1:2 ratio

Notes:

• There are some "save the shot" transition parameters defined (e.g. a gram in the cup during PI will move the profile on to extraction). If a phase is skipped or short one of those was likely triggered.
• It's fine if pressure tapers off toward the end of the shot.
